Yes, winter is here again! During several recent snowstorms, we  identified many fire hydrants buried in snow. We are urging residents to adopt a hydrant and shovel these hydrants out from beneath the piles of snow. During a fire emergency, time is precious. If fire fighters have to locate a buried hydrant and then shovel a path to the hydrant and uncover, it may mean the difference in reducing property damage or even saving a life! We are also urging residents NOT to plow or blow snow directly onto hydrants, or otherwise intentionally bury these life saving devices. Please help us help you and thank you for your cooperation.
