It’s here, our new arrival! On Monday March 2, 2015, we finalized the purchase of a 2012 American LaFrance Eagle Pumper from the Hughestown Hose Company No. 1.

“War Wagon” Arrives at AFD

Pictured at left is Fire Chief Bill George (right) presenting a check to Chief Jamie Merlino (left) of the Hughestown Hose Company. This acquisition will complement the Aquashicola fleet and completes the capital improvement program started in 2006. The “Red War Wagon” will be sent for painting and some modifications prior to placing it into service. The 2012 ALF will eventually replace the 1990 Century 2000 ALF. AFD has enjoyed a long tradition of owning and operating ALF’s starting in 1955 with their first, a 1927 Model 75, a 1962 engine, a 1977 engine, a 1990 Rescue Pumper, a 2006 Eagle Rescue, and now a 2012 Eagle Pumper. This could be the last ALF purchase by the department due to the closure of American LaFrance in January 2014.
