The Latest

AFD Firefighters along with EMS personnel and a Med-E-Vac flight crew extricate a heavy equipment operator from the dozer he was operating. The man was injured when a tree fell on him causing serious injuries. The individual was safely removed from the equipment which was operating in a remote wooded area of the township. He was then air lifted to Lehigh Valley Hospital via a Med-E-Vac helicopter.

“Three LaFrances” -- Engines 111 and 112 along with Rescue 151 appear in the 2010 Four County Parade.

Tuesday, July 27, 2010, Med-E-Vac helicopter landed at the Palmerton High School marking AFD's 600th air medical landing since the inception of the air transport program. The 600 landings include medical transports involving Med-E-Vac, Penn Star, Life Lion, Life Flight, Stat, and Crozier, and involve inter-hospital transports and on scene medical emergencies. Our appreciation goes out to the pilots and flight crews for making these transports safe and efficient. We continue to strive to provide a safe landing area for everyone involved.
